Jazmine Sullivan’s newest studio effort Reality Show, debuted at Number 1 on the R&B Albums chart. According to Nielsen Music, Sullivan’s Reality Show sold 29,000 copies in its first week. The album is currently Number 12 on the Billboard 200 charts. Jazmine was recently interviewed by Billboard Magazine and she had this to say about the heartbreak that inspired her new album.
“The most personal song is called Forever. I’m basically crying on that song. It’s a ballad, and that’s classic Jazmine.” The singer added, “It’s a letting go song which is why it’s so personal. I feel like I came to a point in my relationship where I needed to let go and move on. I just had to do it.”
Missy Elliott joined Sullivan again on her second effort, Love Me Back in 2009. In order to properly promote the album, Sullivan went on the road with Mary J. Blige for the Music Saved My Life tour. The album didn’t achieve the commercial success that Fearless managed to accomplish, but Love Me Back spent a respective six weeks on the Billboard 200. No worries, Jasmine Sullivan knows how get and keep a few coins as she has written songs for a number of mainstream artists including “Say I” (Christina Milian), “Everything to Me” (Monica), “I’m His Only Woman” (Jennifer Hudson), “Still Love You” (Tamia), and “I Want You” (Mary J. Blige).
Jazmine is back! LOVE IT!
